Bechtel (1935) oder von J. Friedrich (1960) eher didaktisch-praktischen Zwecken dienen und entsprechend konzipiert sind. Soweit moglich, wird bei der Anordnung der Leitzeichen zwischen alt-, mittel- und junghethitischen Zeichenformen unterschieden. Neben den hethitischen Lautwerten sind auch akkadische, hurritische und protohattische Lesungen verzeichnet. Samtliche Logogramme werden in deutscher und turkischer Ubersetzung dargeboten. Die Ansetzung der Lautwerte erfolgt in Ubereinstimmung mit den Geflogenheiten in der Assyriologie. In dem umfangreichen Anmerkungsteil werden viele Eintrage kommentiert, fragliche Lesungen und Lautwerte erortert sowie einschlagige Sekundarliteratur angefuhrt. Durch detaillierte Verweise innerhalb der Lemmata sowie durch Konkordanzen und ausfuhrliche Indices wird das Zeichenlexikon benutzerfreundlich aufgeschlusselt. Der Anhang berucksichtigt die Erfordernisse des hethitischen Anfangerunterrichts.
